A "normal" saturday?

When we moved here, we didn't really know what our life would be like, that was part of the excitement! For the first few months our weekends were mainly spent doing touristy things and physio at the gym!  I wasn't sure if we would carry on being tourists, or whether we would end up doing normal things, even though we live on the other side of the world!

So I thought I would share my "normal" saturday with you:
- As a delayed birthday treat, I went to the salon at The Claridges hotel to get my nails done.  Sound like a luxury, but India is not kind to the feet, so they need some looking after (and deep cleaning)!!
- A friend here kindly took me along to met Mr Moga, the local jewelry merchant, who is very popular with all the Brits out here!  His shop didn't look like anything special, until some of the trays of jewels were brought out - if anyone coming to visit wants to splurge on jewelry, I know the place to take you!
- While walking home (it was hot!), I decided to embrace the Indian tradition of getting my eyebrows "threaded", which is basically using cotton thread instead of tweezers (but no less painful).  At a grand cost of 50p, i reckon it could become a regular thing!
- I got excited when I found a shop that sold Lyle's Golden Syrup, so I can make flapjacks!
- Rob was out at the gym when I got home, so I watched Desperate Housewives
- To help Rob with his photography course, I spent half hour standing near windows in the flat to try and find the right lighting for portrait photography! My first experience as a model! hehe! I think I need some work (or maybe just professional hairdresser and make up!)

In the evening I headed out with some friends from the High Commission to see Fat Boy Slim perform at a venue in Delhi, with about 1000 other people in a field, kinda like a festival with one act!  He was awesome, and India loved him (though there were a significant number of Brits in the audience!).  Here are a couple of photos, and if you're interested a clip can be found here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qj0X0l29048&feature=youtu.be and here are a couple of photos:

All in all is was a good, but varied day!  All accompanied by 39deg heat and lots and lots of dust!

H, xx
