For those of you that were wondering about the previous reference to our temporary pet woodpecker.....
So a few weeks a go there was a big storm that brought an injured woodpecker crash landing onto our terrace, which Rob and Gilbert then looked after for a few days. We were't hopeful for the little fella as he seemed in a bad way and couldn't fly.
Coming home from work to find a woodpecker sitting on your houseplant was a bizarre experience for me, especially with Rob telling me that Gilbert had spent the day trying to teach it to fly by throwing it in the air and catching him again! It turns out he was a young woodpecker that fell out of the nest before he could fly!
After a couple of days feeding him and keeping him safe, Gilbert left him outside on the terrace with some food and his parents came to get him and guided him back up to their nest in the tree outside our house!
We can still hear them chirping away, so we can only assume he is doing well back with his family! Only in Delhi! xx

I had been wondering about the woopecker. Glad it's OK. I'm sure Gilbert loved looking after it. We found a baby Blue tit in Huddersfield - unfortunately it did not do so well!
